Few artists can be said to have laid the foundations of a new musical genre. Pandrea are exactly that – prowler, normalu and demoNU : their names have already gained immortality.

In 2003, Leo Pandrea Band made history with the first ever “mioritic metal” album, their debut Leo se intoarce Barbat (Leo Returns a Man). Recorded under humble conditions at the first jam session of the three, the album captured perfectly the spirit of Leo Pandrea Band, based on the contrast between boyscout mioriticism and heavy riffs reminiscent of satanic rock.

This golden combination evolved on the band’s second effort – Nu calariti cu Skonxu’ (Don’t Ride with the Skunk, 2004) – a step forward for both the band as a whole and each member in particular: demoNU plays real drums, normalu has a raspier voice and prowler does the unimaginable and surpasses his performance on the first album. Like their first masterpiece, it’s a concept album; but this time, the message conveyed is more profound, taking the form of a fable. Drama, motorcycles, epic choruses, there’s something for everyone on this great release by the three masters.

2004 was a very productive year for the three. In the fall, they released their third album, called simply Pandrea – heralding the band’s new name, the words ‘Leo’ and ‘Band’ having disappeared. This is the first, and so far only, non-concept album – the songs contain various themes, all the time maintaining the mioritic spirit the three masters are famous for.

2005 brings Best Of Pandrea, containing not only a selection of the band’s favourite hits, but also the whole Pandrea back catalog (in the multimedia section of the CD) remixed and remastered, with a largely improved sound quality. The CD was pressed in a limited edition of 29 numbered copies.

The fourth album, Institutia Suprema (The Supreme Institution, 2005) brings the Pandrea Saints to new heights of notoriety. This epic of astounding proportions recounts the adventures of Jesus and his friends: St. Peter and his brother in hell, Bizarro Peter, Luci(fer), the Antiterrorist Angels, the terrorist faction McTerror and even God himself.

In 2006, the trio released the single 666 (Betia), a prequel of “1916 (Betia)” from the third album. Released on 6.6.06, it was another hit added to the vast Pandrea catalog.

October 2007 brought with it the release of the long awaited new album, Muget de Zimbru (Aurochs Bellow). In the following months, the band are again in rehearsal mode and they’re preparing quite a few surprises, so…

Stay Pandrea! \m/
